Some of the most touching gifts we ever receive are things that people have made for us. Last year I received a wonderful gift of chocolate cookies! But instead of arriving ready-baked, all the ingredients were layered up in a pretty jar with a clear set of instructions, so after all the Christmas treats had gone, we had a fun afternoon of baking. Obviously, only the dry ingredients could be layered up in the jar so the first instruction was to source a couple of other ingredients. Find your favourite cookie recipe and create a unique gift. 

Or why not just make whatever you are good at making, be it chutney, jam, something knitted or wood-worked or whatever, and present it proudly, with love, to your loved ones for Christmas. Isn't that the message of the Shepherds in their gift to baby Jesus?
