Our readings this week are 1 John 4:16-21 and Matthew 18.21–35.

1 John 4:16 is, I believe, the absolute heart of St. John's theology and his understanding of the universe. I can't find any words that add to the enormity of this thought, nor come close to plumbing its depths. So I invite you just to spend some time dwelling with and on it, and see where John's heart resonates with your own:
