Of course, a lot of the old-fashioned products our great-grandparents used are simple cheap and very ecological. Consider using:

• White vinegar for cleaning glass, removing limescale
• Baking soda for gentle scrubbing, stain and odour removal
• Lemon or lime juice for removing limescale
• Soaking laundry items overnight in washing soda for stain removal
