Wonderful seasonal fruit and vegetables

July is the perfect time for local summer fruit and vegetables – you may even grow your own. Many supermarkets and local shops stock local produce, but Ripon and other local markets are particularly well stocked. His month look out for and enjoy:

Fruit: Blackberries, Blackcurrants, Blueberries, Cherries, Gooseberries, Greengages, Loganberries, Raspberries, Redcurrants, Strawberries

Vegetables: Aubergine, Beetroot, Broad Beans, Broccoli, Carrots, Cauliflower, Courgettes, Cucumber, French Beans, Garlic, Kohlrabi, New Potatoes, Onions, Peas, Radishes, Rocket, Runner Beans, Spring Greens, Spring Onions, Summer Squash, Swish Chard, Tomatoes, Turnips, Watercress

Spare some time to pray for our local farmers and those involved in getting produce to our tables, especially for the way in which climate change has affected rainfall and lowered crop yields this year, here and abroad.
