Time to start mowing the grass - or hold back?

April is the month most of us with lawns begin to mow - but how about holding back on the mowing for a month or two? You might choose to mow the areas of the lawn you most regularly use, but leave some areas, which are less used or near the edges to grow long. This will create a wonderful habitat for insects and bees and encourage wildflowers to grow. 

Whatever your gardening habits (or lack of them) could you perhaps pray for the protection of so many insects and bees that are facing a huge struggle to survive?
