Eco tip for the first week of November
When do you take stuff you no longer need to the charity shops and when do they actually need it?
When it comes to children's toys, Christmas decorations, Christmas jumpers and all things, well, 'Christmassy' the charity shops could do with your donations NOW and not in the New Year, which is when many people get round to doing a big sort out.
Parents in particular (especially those on tight budgets, or with a strong desire to reduce their carbon footprint) are most likely to visit charity shops this month or early next, in search of good quality, second hand toys or Christmassy clothes and decorations. So why not get ahead now and see what no longer fits, isn't used or no longer 'sparks joy' (to quote a famous Japanese 'organising consultant') and take it to a relevant charity shop. While you're there, do have a look round, as you might also be able to get ahead with YOUR Christmas shopping in a really sustainable way.
