Eco tip for the fourth week of June

Planning your summer outings?

When planning holidays and trips out, we often overlook the wonders on our own doorstep. Last week, the all-electric 36 bus service was mentioned as an ecological way to travel. When planning some great summer days out, where could you get to on the 36 bus?

  • Ripon not only has a great market on a Thursday, but three brilliant museums and a world-class cathedral
  • In Harrogate have you ever visited The Pump Room Museum, the Valley Gardens, the Montpellier Quarter or the Mercer Art Gallery?
  • Leeds has a great Museum and Art Gallery and beautiful Victorian arcades as well as some outstanding theatres.
  • The Harewood Estate is also on the 36 route, which includes not only the stately Harewood House and Gardens, but The Emmerdale set tour. There are also great walks around the outer fringes of the estate (which can be accessed for free).
  • Eccup reservoir – more great walks
  • Where else do you know?

Dear God, we humbly seek guidance as we strive for a more sustainable future. Grant us wisdom to make choices that honour creation and inspire our hearts to care for the earth and its resources.
