Water Plants Wisely  Help your plants thrive while saving water by watering only early in the morning or later in the evening, when temperatures are cooler and less moisture is lost through evaporation. Water the base of the plant rather than the leaves, use a watering can instead of a hose where practical, and if possible collect rainwater in a water butt to reduce your reliance on treated tap water.
